BLINK
IN THE BLINK OF AN EYE
September 2020
Images from a workshop at P44 – Performance Hub, in Copenhagen, for In the BLINK of an Eye.
BLINK is a scenic installation, examining and reflecting on the impermanence and fragility of the experienced reality and the human vulnerability and challenges in encountering this impermanence.
Created as an experience for a single audience member/visitor at a time, it can be viewed as an experimentarium.
Gathering inspiration from durational performance and meditation techniques, it encompasses fragments of texts, newly composed music, videoprojections and actions carried out by the visitor.
BLINK is inspired by the work of the French philosopher Simone Weil, especially her concept of paying attention. .
Attention as an inward listening, but also a call to truly listen, truly see and truly experience what goes on in the world. Attention as a way of shaping how we are present and act, and re-act, in the world.
Working towards a premiere in August 2023.
